Mike Hollingshead photographs the ever-changing shapes and brilliant colors of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms across the Midwest. "What captivates me is never knowing what [the formations] will do," he says, although almost a decade of storm chasing has sharpened his ability to use structural details — like a rounded base shape — to predict each storm's evolution to best position himself for stunning shots.
