About the images
Since settling into orbit around Saturn in 2004, the Cassini spacecraft has revealed much about the planet's illusive night side, surface storms, and rings. Since Cassini's visible-light cameras offer only 1-megapixel resolution, these large photographs — collected in the book Saturn: A New View — had to be stitched together as mosaics by artist and designer Laura Lovett and NASA imaging specialist Jeff Cuzzi.
